While painting on location some years ago, I was, like many of us artists, attracted to this rustic old barn. Strong light and shadow on the barn and on the ground made for a very compelling and picturesque view. I enjoy trying to capture the light effect of the scene or the reference photo and as I often do, I pushed the colors, from the local color to colors that incorporate more intense hues of purple, green, lavender, orange, red, and yellow.

My materials include artist oils and an oil primed linen panel. The painting measures 9" x 12" or 23 x 30 centimeters. A professional camera was used to ensure the image is as close to the actual painting colors as I can get. I varnished the painting to protect and preserve the paint surface. High quality frames are important to the overall effect of each painting. So that is what I used, and I attached hanger wire so the painting will be ready to hang when you open the box. The frame is dark brown with warm undertones and an antique gold filet. I think you will be pleased.
