On a hill outside the village of Celerina in the Engadine, near Sankt Moritz (Switzerland), stands the ancient Protestant church of San Gian. Parts of the nave, the choir and the smaller bell tower date back to the 1100s. The larger bell tower was struck by lightning in 1682, setting fire to its top which was never rebuilt.
