Out walking on a lovely, fresh winter morning in snowy Sweden, I found this typcial, painted wooden hut in the forest where there were people skiing and sledging nearby. l took photographs and did a watercolour painting later in my studio using special, rough handmade paper to accentuate the fluffiness of the snow and cosiness of the scene. Later, for fun and additional colour, I added the Christmas tree and so "Sledging in Skarpnäck" became "Christmas Sledging":-) It reminds me of my own youth, setting off for a day of fun in the snow with friends in the countryside where I grew up.

"Christmas Sledging" was painted on rough, handmade paper using Windsor and Newton watercolour paints. The ragged edges of the special paper are visible to show off its handmade character as the painting is glued on top of its light grey mount rather than behind a window mount. But this can be changed, if wanted :-)
