The ghats on the great Ganges riverfront at Benaras or Varanasi are unquestionably the city’s most iconic and celebrated image. I loved the scene from a design perspective with the beautiful hazy silhouette of the Chet Singh fort in the backdrop and hence loved painting this. It seems to be telling a story of people engaged in bathing, or boating, or just sitting and chatting away leisurely on a winter noon at the ghats. Signed and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The colors of the actual painting may slightly vary due to photographic lighting sources or individual monitor settings.
