I have noticed that people who stay in a desert invariably wear beautiful, bright and colourful clothing. Whether that helps them to keep their spirits up or to stand out against the arid monotonous background, I am not sure,but these people have always fascinated me.

"Chit-chat" is all about friends getting together and generally having a laugh over anything and everything. I have tried to depict this moment through my favourite subject- Indian desert dwellers.

I have tried to give it some texture using gesso, texture paste and butter paper. This is on stretched canvas and can be hung as is.
