Artwork description:

I found the China Duck peeking down from a mantlepiece in Portugal. I had been looking for a second sculpted duck for some years to act as a counterpoint to my drawings of a Stone Duck seen in the Hittite Museum, Istanbul. Both prints were worked in tandem, both involving one carved cardboard printing plate for the textural detail overprinting a flat colour aquatinted etched plate.

Materials used:

intaglio printmaking, two plate colour printing, aquatint and collagraph printed on fine printing paper.
