Putsborough Beach is one of my favourite places to visit. We have spent many happy, summer days swimming and watching the waves next to the Atlantic in North Devon.
I always feel inspired to paint when I am near the sea. We are fortunate to live fairly close to the east coast but summer holidays are often spent in our very old caravan in Croyde, just on the other side of the majestic Baggy Point.
This little oil on board depicts children paddling in the shallows at Putsborough. I like to sit on the beach with my sketch book and this painting is from drawings made last summer. It reminds me of endless days watching my children play when they were small.
This painting is unframed but I have mounted it myself in my studio. The mount measures 25.5 cm x 20.3 cm. It will fit into an off the shelf frame but looks good displayed as it comes, too.
