My lovely old house is situated right in the centre of town. My studio/gallery overlooks the war memorial, commemorating the dead of two world wars and more recent conflicts. Carved in the granite memorial under the heading " Les enfants d'Oradour" are the names of those long gone. In November last year a class of 'tinies' from the local primary school arrived with their teachers. They stood in a silent line. I was moved by their presence and reverence. I took a photo and then reflected that maybe just maybe " the children of Oradour" were all there, just unseen. This was the inspiration for my watercolour. The painting is sold framed and under glass.
