Original artwork description:

The work is a mixed media on canvas and the work was inspired by childhood memories of friendship. My work explores the emotions, thoughts and experiences of love, care, joy, happiness and compassion we shared growing up. I rendered my work with delicate but bold monochromatic shades of blue and I used bright and warm colors in my work to evoke emotions, moods and memories of the viewer. The work conveys a calm and tranquil mood and drawing from my subjects eyes they exhibit a sense of hope and stability. The work is part of the shades of blue series of which I am experimenting with a new style and technique of monochromatic color scheme.

Materials used:

I employed watercolors, oils and acrylic paints on traditional white and acid free stretched canvas to create the artwork.
