Childhood memories – oil on canvas. 12in x 16in x 1.5in. This little painting is loosely based on a photograph I came across of controversial photographer Sally Mann as a young child. In the past I have been inspired by the photography of Sally Mann. Her work is dark, hauntingly beautiful, controversial and in my opinion has a painterly quality to them. I found her childhood photograph equally intriguing and otherworldly.
