Mumbai International Airport - The airport is named after Shivaji (1630–1680), 17th-century Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill were charged with building a 450,000-square-meter (4.8 million-square-foot) facility that could handle a large portion of the hub's estimated 40 million annual passengers.
