Chervona Ruta (червона рута) - 'Red Rue'.

Eastern European legend has it that the flowers of the (normally yellow) rue plant turn red briefly on the night of the summer solstice. Whoever finds the red rue flower will be bestowed with special powers!

Painted in acrylic with some interesting impasto detail, a small but vibrant piece to brighten a room.
