In this painting I was inspired by nigonga style (Japanese painting with natural pigments) and wanted to express the delicate beauty of sakura.
To emphasize the white of the blossoms I’ve made the background a bit darker, like a toned aged paper. Vertical lines highlight the organic forms in a subtle way. The white color of the blossoms is the white of the paper, no white paint is used.
Original watercolor artwork on acid-free 100% cotton paper, made with professional watercolors.
Signed front and back, certificate of authenticity attached.
