The rough canvas has a simple glaze in natural tones. The forms of the female bust are worked out with rough brushstrokes and outlines tone in tone. The figure seems absorbed, introverted. Certainly her thoughts dwell on a poetry - the poetry written in Italian on the canvas space: "Che poi non capisco come si possa vivere senza sentire il bisogno di fare la cosa sbagliata".
