A silverpoint drawing made on the fine-quality Japanese MUSE/WATSON tear-edge paper, 239g.
• Old Japanese photo inspired me for creating this drawing. Only one item available.
• Size 32×41cm
• Dated and signed by the artist
Silverpoint is a very fine and precise technique of drawing and a popular medium with Early Renaissance artists. It allows very detailed drawings but requires control as lines cannot be erased. Dark areas are achieved by multiple layers of shading. As silver oxidises over time a silverpoint drawing will change within months, the grey lines and marks become warm-toned and patinated - so the drawing is always ‘alive’.
