Opoul is a remote village in the Languedoc region of Southern France. It has long associated history with the “knights templar", and this remains of a castle is part of that history. Built on a prominent hill overlooking Opoul and the flatlands and out to the sea. I painted two views using pen and ink with a wash of watercolours, on best quality waterford paper. This view is from the top looking across to the sea. The second is looking up to the chatteau.
