"Charlie Horse" was one of those rare occasions when the image came to me almost immediately after the idea. I wanted the painting to encompass both 'majestic and strong beast' juxtaposed with 'a silly Americana pop culture cartoon figure'. I loved the idea of a strong Greek mythological beast with the human aspect being a adolescent child known worldwide as being somewhat weak 'lovable loser'. One might look at the painting and say, "Good grief".
