This oil painting depicts an autumn walk just as the sun was setting, the beautiful sky casting a magical, soft light over the valley.

Charlcombe Valley was a favourite place to walk for famous Bath resident, Jane Austen who wrote in a letter dated June 1799 - ‘We took a charming walk to Charlcombe…..sweetly situated in a little green valley’
