The pretty valley of Charlcombe on the North East edge of Bath is an idyllic rural haven, hard to believe it is so close to the city.

This oil painting depicts an autumn walk just as the sun was setting, the beautiful sky casting a magical, soft light over the valley.

Charlcombe Valley was a favourite place to walk for famous Bath resident, Jane Austen who wrote in a letter dated June 1799 - ‘We took a charming walk to Charlcombe…..sweetly situated in a little green valley’
