//// this artwork is painted with fluorescent acrylic paint!
The two photos shown are of the same artwork, seen in sunlight (bright one) and UV light (dark one) respectively.
In order to see the UV version of the image, a UV LED lamp is needed to project the light. ////
This piece represents Aleksander, my sphynx cat alter ego in a pompous outfit, relaxing in a chair with one of their hands connected to a voltage drip. I see this as a coffee break, a brief resting moment before continuing the chaotic day.
In this work, I display the importance and attention to fashion, clothing and garments in the queer community.
Through kink, coded fashion, glamour legacy of the voguing culture and refute of social gender noms, fashion is a cardinal element in the experience of numerous queer people. Consciously or subconsciosly, the way one dresses manifests different consequences - be it a mean of expression, self exploration tool, and a strong communicative mechanism that allows a nearly instant identification and subsequent classification in the eye of the beholder. And above everything, it is a creative tool that allows to be perceived as seen, and to be in control of own image.
The piece is sold as unstretched canvas, but for an additional fee of 25€ i can have it stretched by a professional on wooden support
