A bridge spanning the Seine stands behind a building materials yard in one of the most densely populated areas of Europe. This location features in Jean-Paul Sartre's novel 'The Age of Reason' published in 1945. Back then, Charenton was an industrial area and the Seine was 'particularly dirty there'. Now Charenton is transformed into an almost entirely residential community, backing onto the enormous park of Bois de Vincennes.
This is an original relief print pulled from an engraving cut in rubber. The edition is 10 prints only. Please feel free to contact me to put a question or make a remark.
