Charcoal Boy Portrait - original charcoal drawing

Portrait format - 9x12 inches - unmatted - unframed

Will slip easily into any frame with a 9x12 inch aperture.

This study of a young dark-haired boy is primarily in charcoal with some touches of grey and white pastel.

I used Strathmore Toned Grey acid free paper and artist quality charcoal and pastel.

I was charmed by the confident yet demure expression on this young boy's face. His tousled thick black hair framing his dark smiling eyes.
I wanted to capture the moment in time where he stood in his youth - his life before him as he poses for the camera.

A little boy with a captivating yet unassuming aura about him. This would make a lovely addition to the home of someone who loves people and portraits.

This is an original and not a print.

I have not sprayed the drawing with fixative as I do not like how that process darkens the media.

Your original charcoal portrait will be placed face down on a sheet of smudge-proof glassine and taped at one edge. It will then be carefully rolled and taped then placed in a strong, thick-walled tube and a grey plastic (compostable) mailer for total protection in transit.

Take great care in unwrapping and ask your framer (if you go to one) to create a floating mount for you so that should any stray particles fall they will fall behind the matt and not on its lip at the bottom.

Please note that if you live outside the UK you may have to pay your country's customs charges on this ok.
