Original artwork description:

With this series I have been walking and exploring on the 'other side' of Morecambe Bay. The open sands here along the beautiful coastal road to more industrial Barrow stretch right through to Roa and Piel and other Islands of the Furness Peninsula... and more paintings will appear from explorations of these. This area tends to be flatter than the south side with the vast stretches of sand and grasses slowly lifting into dotted woodland and hamlets - unlike the rocks and cliffs of Silverdale. I wanted to capture the openness of the vast areas with the channels of water and sea cutting through - and as with other work these paintings have been built up in layers with a bold impasto style quickly developing that reflects my desire to connect with the painting and the environment.

There are X12 paintings that make up this series, many of which are SOLD. They are all complete with beautiful handmade frames, painted in Farrow & Ball 'Stiffkey Blue' - leading the eye into the work. Signed by me on the front - and all labelled on the reverse these are ready to hang.

Materials used:

oil on canvas board
