Champagne at 6 is a tone-on-tone original abstract of creamy whites, beige, light blue and a pearly, luminescent finish. This painting has a bit of surface texture, too.
This is a stretched canvas on wood frame.

I create art because I love color, pattern, textures. I prefer abstracts over realism and I like to combine colors based on what I see in nature, the landscape and various feelings they convey.
My process is varied -- I either work on my textured and linear abstract landscapes when I'm feeling more controlled or throw caution to the wind and work on a very uncontrolled abstract that uses color to bring forth an expressive feeling.
Living in the desert SW, I often use the glorious sunsets we get to inspire me, but sometimes my inspiration comes from a great jazz tune that's playing on Pandora or a good old movie on TCM I like to listen to in the background when I paint. I just go where the eclectic sound and paint takes me with Cary Grant, Bette Davis or listening to Frank Sinatra, Brazilian Jazz, Brooks & Dunn, Kid Rock or Nickelback (I said eclectic!).
