There are plenty of reasons for exploring the backstreets of Milan rather than spend too much time admiring the magnificent duomo. For one, there aren't any tourists to be found in this less glamorous but oh so atmospheric and, as we commonly say these days, authentic environment. Except of course this tourist. Bloody hypocrite!
