Original artwork description:

A unique and unusual pit fired bowl 6" x 3" depicting cave art.

Reminiscent of the cave paintings of ancient people, depicting the ancient way of life. Pit firing is the oldest method of firing pottery and includes cracks in inclusions in the clay, that only go to make the piece look authentic. The figures are hand painted in acrylic and the piece is finished with beeswax from a local hive.
The pottery is fired with organic materials such as seaweed, banana peel, orange peel and ferns, which give beautiful effects.
