Original artwork description:

I saw these Hereford bullocks when walking in Wales and thought they made a lovely pastoral scene in their landscape. The animal looking directly at us has the most appealing expression, and I have used my brightest and lightest colours here in order to draw the eye to this centre of attention. The other cattle and the sweep of the bushes and landscape keep the eye moving around the composition.
