Part of the Catharsis Series, this abstract painting is full of energy and bold colors. Paint and collage pieces were applied in many layers to create textures and shapes that add a sense of depth.

When I paint, I typically listen to traditional Irish and Cape Breton folk music. The rhythms help me get into a creative flow where I paint freely and intuitively. This series is named after one of my favorite tunes by Natalie McMaster, called "Catharsis".
