My cats to me are like mimes, with lots of body language. And it may be about time I express them on paper… after all, they are always sitting around, posing for me. I am mainly focusing on small paintings, black & white with colour highlights. The effect can be quite dramatic on this parchment paper.
The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. It is a thick parchment like paper, thick, strong, yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect. The close up picture is to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting.
