Artwork description:

This is an original, handmade linocut print, available in a limited edition of 23.

The first photo shows the print in shades of pink, gray, brown, green, blue, and black. It is printed using Caligo Safe Wash oil-based ink in 12 layers.

Image size: 29 x 29 cm.
Paper size: 35 x 35 cm.
The print is sold unframed.

I spent over two months on the design and printing process, totaling 54 hours.

My inspiration comes from William Morris, who, in my view, created beautiful prints. The style is Art Nouveau. My studio is set in a rural area, where I hear the sounds of sheep, horses, and goats as I work. I love animals and enjoy painting them.

This is a varied edition. Each print is hand-pressed and slightly unique. I might have used the roller differently or mixed a color slightly differently. This is a reduction linocut, meaning more lino is carved away with each layer of printing. Once I complete a layer and start carving into the lino, there's no turning back—errors can't be fixed, and no changes can be made, so a lot of care and planning are required. This piece has 12 carving and printing layers.
