Original artwork description:

The seat of the neo-romantic castle on the shore of Lake Silvaplana, in the Engadine not far from St. Moritz, was built in 1906 by the German general Graf von der Lippe. It is one of the most important examples of late historic architecture in Graubünden. The castle is privately owned and not open to the public. The name comes from the Romance and Italian languages (Crap : stone, Romance / da Sass : from the stone, Italian).
Watercolor on 100% cotton.

In the work “Castello Crap da Sass in Engadina”, Pozzi explores the charm of historical architecture set in a landscape context. The Crap da Sass Castle stands with strength, almost like a guardian of the history, surrounded by a silent and isolated mountain environment. The watercolor technique allows the artist to
capture the diffused light and soft shadows, which envelop the castle in an aura of mystery and timeless charm.
The warm color of the castle walls delicately contrasts with the surrounding greenery, creating a perfect visual balance.
