Original artwork description:

I spent a wonderful few weeks on at Loch goil painting most of this scene plein air, and adding layers and finishing touches , back in an old stone cottage we rented. This painting is of Carrick Castle , on a beautiful clear evening, at this time of the day the light plays wth reflections in the calm water, giving off such magical colours .
At the moment the castle is covered in scaffolding , which I took the liberty to ignore when completing this scene.
Painted in layers with pallet knife and brush.

Materials used:

oil
