My inspiration for this painting was the beautiful camellia plants set in the gardens of Stangate House, in the Adelaide Hills township of Aldgate.
The garden under many of the camellia trees, was a delightful carpet of pink and red from fallen flowers.
Established in the 1940’s, the four acre garden is home to one of Australia’s largest oak trees, and recognised by the International Camellia Society in 2012 as an International Camellia Garden of Excellence.
