Fairground rides hold a fascination for me and when I spotted this example I just had to take a photo and then create an Linocut of it.
I chose to do a reduction Linocut which creates a multicoloured print from a single block of lino. Through a series of progressive cuttings, inkings, and printings, the image slowly emerges while the actual piece of lino is destroyed. A reduction print can therefore never be reprinted. This means that the whole batch of prints must be printed at the start and will determine the final number in any edition.
