Carousel Charm - an original acrylic gouache painting of a vintage fairground horse bedecked with finery and gilt.

This original horse painting is 31cm wide x 26cm high and is 3½cm deep.

You can hang it as it is by simply resting it centrally on a screw protruding from the wall or you can lean it against something.

If you've ever had a ride on a carousel as a child I hope this image transports you back to that yesteryear fairground with the rush and thrill of all the daredevil attractions, the smell of candyfloss and hot dogs and the exaltation of winning a goldfish in a bag if you could nail three darts to playing cards on a well indented board!

This is painted on a top quality triple primed Loxley cradled canvas and wood frame. I gave it a further coat of black charcoal gesso before proceeding to build the horse's form and acoutrements in professional Holbein acrylic gouache.

It was a treat to let loose with this opaque medium and add embellishments in turn.
