"Carmen" is a painting of great personal significance. Unique in its style, it could not be called otherwise. Through it I tried to communicate the strength and vitality of women in general at a time when in some places they are conquering more and more opportunities. Her frontal and firm look refers to that freedom and security that are the main axis of the painting. In this work the background plays a very important role, as it blends with the portrayed, who is no one in particular, but a product of my imagination, and becomes part of the background or the other way around. Painted with a palette knife in its entirety, this work established a before and after in many of the paintings that followed.
The treatment of the face speaks of life experiences and history, Carmen is not a conventional beauty, but tries to say a lot about her personality.
On the back of the painting are the data of the painting and the number of works registered.
