The inspiration for starting this work was the shade of a Dracaena plant that lives in my studio. Admiring the beautiful shadows from the leaves, I imagined the flower and painted it in watercolor. Each painting in this series is exclusive and cannot be repeated.

My watercolors are the world I live in before I paint it.
I paint sunny shadows, real shadows that plants cast. With a brush and watercolor, I turn them into images, into plants that may not exist in nature.

The process of creating each work is a source of inspiration for me.
