A figure sits contemplating the present while others in the background continue to toil away with day-to-day tasks. This painting was inspired by the idea that evil prospers when good people do nothing. The world has already been radically altered (perhaps for the worse) in this image, yet many will continue to eke out their existences without much thought towards what brought about these circumstances.
