Contemporary figurative painting that offers in the foreground on the right the portrait of Pyotr Il'ič Tchaikovsky in a work of art dedicated to "Italian Capriccio", which I represented interpreted by the great conductor Herbert von Karajan, portrayed on the left. The splendid composition of the well-known Russian composer was inspired by his exciting trip to Italy between 1879 and 1880 that, among the music, the dances, the parties in the heart of the splendid scenery of the landscape, left an indelible mark on him. He described in music his emotions, the warmth of the inhabitants, the singing of the lagoon dwellers, the Tuscan stornelli with an overwhelming Neapolitan tarantella in the conclusion, to which I referred with the dancers dominating in the background in the rhythm of the castanets.
