Original artwork description:

Diptych
Collection: Territories
The works in this collection take root in the vast or tiny territories of my country. Geographical places occupied, isolated, fragmented, abandoned, ceded, exploited, mapped. These places that identify us or in which we identify ourselves, populated by animals, plants, and sometimes even fantastic creatures. Areas that are sometimes open to the horizon, sometimes mountainous, made up of minerals, ice and filled with spaces, but always surprising and beautiful.

Acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas
2 panels of 61 X 76 X 4 cm (24 X 30 X 1,5 inches)

Varnished (satin) to protect against U.V.
Sides: black

I work in a spontaneous, intuitive and gestural way, where the unconscious takes up more space than the conscious. I do not seek to represent my environment, but rather to evoke an emotion. I first choose a colour palette, then I spread the paint without really thinking. When I am satisfied with the result, I take a break which allows me to think about the next step. I add details that guide the eye through the work and give it meaning.
