Gold leaf sheets (Dutch metal) have been laid over a turquoise base to allow slight peeps of the colour to come through the top half of the painting. I've used both oils and acrylics using palette knife work, flat washes and glazes over the lower half. The painting forms a landscape of sorts but is called 'Canticle' which is a holy song sung in church to denote my attitude towards nature and my reverence for the countryside where I live (Sussex).
