In New Zealand, canna lilies are thought of as weeds! They grow everywhere. And they're giant! I just marveled at those plants. And then, when I got back home, I grew them. I'm still growing them. Inside right now.

So, here's that beautiful yellow canna. The leaves are so wonderful. Striped lime green and darker green.

I cut out 16 linocuts and printed them, I carved the canna lily and printed and painted it, I carved the butterfly and printed it and painted it and glued on both the lily and butterfly to the original 16 linocuts. Dreaming of canna lilies....

linoleum, carving tools, printing ink and paper, watercolor and gouache
