Original artwork description:

Acantide is one of the few portrait paintings of the "expressive Beauties"-seriesa that is still available directly from the studio.

Comparing this series with what I make nowadays, we see a far more raw and direct expression. The control of the medium was not yet as strong, yet I made this up with a freshness only young artists have.

This artwork is open to many interpretations. One could say this face is looking hopeful into the future, others would say the portrayed face is longing for change... It's up to the viewer to define what is seen.

As for technique, I first used acrylics to paint the portrait. Once that was finished, synthetic enamel got poured in a figurative way on top of the film of paint.

This painting will be send as an rolled up canvas.
