Calm before the Storm depicts a tranquil moment filled with tension, as the sea and sky merge in hues of deep blue and soft cream. Accents of gold leaf highlight the subtle light breaking through, adding depth and a reflective quality to the scene. The composition captures the quiet stillness before nature’s power unfolds
Background
This series of paintings is my largest ever project as I am painting 365 artworks of Sennen Cove. One for each day of the year. I have been inspired and captivated by this beautiful, magical bay in a remote part of western Cornwall near Lands End.
Many of these paintings have been published in my recent book called “A Moment in Time”
No two days are the same and each painting endeavours to catch a moment in time using abstraction to convey a sense of mood, time and place.
About me
I am an artist working in Cheltenham. I always welcome visitors to my studio and make a great cup of coffee. I always have a selection of paintings on display. If would like to visit please message me - Thanks for reading
