A textured Deep Impasto palette knife painting in oil by an award winning San Francisco Bay artist, featuring a colorful and textured seascape wildflower painting.



This painting was inspired by one of my Plein Air (outdoor) painting trips to the gorgeous Garrapata State Park, near Carmel, California. On a mild and warm morning I sat quietly enjoying the bubbling brooke amongst the Call lilies in the valley beside the beach. I captured the scene with my palette knives. Back in my studio in the San Francisco Bay, I scaled it up larger, and I love how the blues of Cerulean, Prussian and Turquoise play together with white, orange and lemon yellow to create incredible texture and movement.
