Original artwork description:

Bold and colorful abstract that was done with acrylic and mixed media on heavy paper. This is a piece that reminded me of a soothing warm bath with lots of bath beads petals and bubbles. Calgon was a bath line that was popular in 60's and 70's with a famous commercial with the tag line "Calgon take me away'. And after these past years, don't we all need Calgon to take us away!

It is signed on the front and back along with the title and date created.

I name my pieces by what occurred while painting the piece. What moved me, what struggles had to be overcome, my mood, my train of thought, what the piece reminded me of, sometimes a song that was on and the beat moved me or the lyrics influenced me in some way. Some pieces are named clearly with a bit of humor. I never intentionally start out a painting saying “I’m going to do this, or I’m going to do that”. All of my pieces morph into something that is totally surprising and unexpected.

Materials used:

acrylic, gesso, charcoal, marker, graphite, pencil, paper
