CADINI DI MISURINA
On the day I visited the Province of Belluno I had forgotten my sunglasses.
The glare streaming through the windscreen of our little hire car made the driving experience a challenge, especially around those precarious bends. However the joy I remember feeling at seeing (I mean really seeing) the colours of the grandiose peaks and snow sprinkled valleys was palpable. As a painter, I often need to remind myself to take my sunglasses off from time to time and let my eyes absorb the true hue of the landscape.
The Cadini di Misurina of northern Italy is renowned for its jagged peaks, sharp spires, and unique rock formations, offering endless inspiration for painting, photography, and sketching.
The ever-changing light and weather conditions provide a dynamic canvas for capturing the natural beauty of the area.
Oil on stretched canvas / 100cm x 80cm / framed in Tasmanian Oak and ready to hang
