By the bay in winter
Delicate pastel light,
Lavender blue sea,
Charcoal black goat willow,
Sea grasses,
Sunset to dusk.

Words and experiences of the very special Studland bay on the coast of Dorset.
Original impressionist watercolour on bockingford rough textured watercolour paper 300gsm 140lb.
Graduated washes were applied for the background and when the paper was drying I used my Chinese wolf hair brush to drag the paint and draw the tree with the charcoal black I had made mixing crimson red, yellow Gamboge and Prussian blue together. I also dragged the paint and pressed the paint on for the sea grasses.
