A big blond Butterscotch Rose looking out of the dark, thick rose bush. Painted from life back in about 2002, when these roses climbed the fence in my back yard.
A cool thing happened while I was painting. I set my easel right in front of this large flower. At some point in the process the bees decided the picture looked real enough that they started flying into it, trying to pollinate it I guess. So I thought, "if the bees are convinced, then I'm finished!"
This oil painting on canvas measures 8 x 10 inches, on wooden stretchers, the sides painted black as shown. Signed by the artist (me) in the upper right corner. Sold unframed.
