“Buttermere Fields” is a watercolour, gouache and acrylic painting on 300gms watercolour paper. It is 50cmsWx36cmsH. The painting has evolved from drawings made on location in Cumbria, north west U.K. in 2018. It is not a literal landscape painting. It is an expression of a rural location where the rolling hills and fields wrap around Lake Buttermere. Working from landscape is an interest I have always nurtured and one of the most beautiful landscapes I have seen is The Lake District. I am inspired by the great colourists such as The Fauves, Barbara Rae , Gillian Ayres and John Hoyland.
The painting is presented in a white window mount 70x55cms. See pictures. A3 colour prints are available on non fade heavy duty photographic paper.
