'Butterfly Wing' blue butterfly abstract painted in textured mixed media on a box canvas. The main colours: shades of blue; black and white; and a touch of silver. Inspirations and links to butterflies in art history: Andy Warhol, Damien Hirst and the van Gogh butterfly series. The butterfly is a symbol of joy, the soul and transformation. Psyche, the Greek goddess of the soul, is often depicted in art as a beautiful, butterfly-winged woman. The painting is ready to unwrap and hang, or it can be taken to a professional framer for a specially made canvas frame if preferred. I have signed the painting on the front.
